LOOK– Something Shiny to Distract You!

(Working on a post about Mom– she moved into an independent living place this week…)

But in the meantime!

Michael English asked Russ to sing on his upcoming solo cd, so yesterday he joined Michael and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts in the studio. Here is a snippet of their very first practice run on a chorus– thoughts?

I think they ought to get a bus.

WAIT– THERE’S MORE!

Michael just uploaded to SocialCam– enjoy!

Of course, I loved it and I had to laugh. It is just plain wonderful that those fellas earn a living doing something they absolutely have joy in doing! Can’t wait to hear the finished cd. But, oh my, I remember from waiting on Russ’ last cd’s how long it took from the beginning to the end. I especially like the second clip where we can hear more of Russ and his great inspirational inputs.

Oh Tori, how wonderful that your mother is in an assisted living home because I know it worried all of you with her trying to live alone. I have to admit that I am surprised to hear that she is already there because I was so afraid she was not going to be easily talked into leaving the home she loves so much. Many prayers had to help her agree to the move and I am so thankful for the way God just moves things along the way He does…holding close everyone involved along the way.

Now, let’s get on with the sale of that house, ’cause I want y’all in your new home before the holidays, for goodness sake.

Ditto what Momma Love wrote in her lasts to paragraphs !!

    At least a van.

I loved how they all had a slightly different take on pronouncing the ending of the words ‘guilty’ and ‘burden.’ I hope they keep these little ‘individualities’ in the songs. Very Blind Boys, which is SUPER HYVÄÄ in my opinion = ) Oh, and if these rich little individualities are present through-out, then sign me up for this ‘white man’ take on old school Gospel !!

Oh, and the ‘Something Shiny’ wouldn’t be the top front-half of Michael’s head would it ?? = /

(small-j now holds up, firmly, his Shield of Faith to help deflect a few fiery arrows)

That was way too short!!! I’ve always thought it would be so much fun to sit in on a recording session with any one of these pros! I love seeing their little stumbles——see how they learn their words and timing. Thanks for the “fly on the wall” view, Tori! That was great……though too short.

I’m happy for your Mom—–that she is safe and hopefully happy in her new home. If she’s a people person like yourself, she’ll love having folks around all the time now. She’ll have some good stories to tell you! I know you and your siblings will worry a lot less. Praying that she makes the transition easily and quickly. And that the facility takes excellent care of her and realize what a treasure they have in their midst!

I followed the link after you posted it on fb the other day and, I must admit, I sat close to the computer with a goofy grin on my face throughout both clips. I try, as a rule, to avoid the goofy grin. But sometimes you just gotta go there!

small j – I laughed out loud at the “Shield of Faith” comment.
