Mazel Tov Monday

I have to say I rarely spend my time wishing I was a 100 year old Jewish woman living in Florida– until now.

There are just TOO MANY things to love about this video! The groom’s ponytail, the feeding each other wedding cake moments (watch her “Meh” expression and shrug after she tastes it!), the dip during their dance, her jig on the way back down the aisle…

I love this couple. I want to BE this couple!

Here’s the explanation I received with the link:

“The bride was several years older than the groom, with a child from a previous marriage, when the couple eloped. It was, as she told me recently, “a scandal.”

Last week, almost 65 years later, she celebrated her 100th birthday. His present to her was the traditional Jewish wedding they never had.

And it was a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable affirmation of why I became a rabbi.

I’d like to share just a taste of that incredible experience with you.  Remember — the kallah (Bride) is 100 years old.

They were competitive ballroom dancers, and still go out dancing once a week.

Also bowling. The bowling alley threw the bride a surprise party for her 100th. “They gave me 100 free games!” she told me. “It’ll take me a year to use them all.”

ENJOY!

Well, I just barely had written my poem on your previous blog and I came across this. If I weren’t too close to her age I suspect this story would be adorable….but under the circumstances, I watched the video….now I think I’ll go take a nap.

Can your husband still sport a pony-tail, Barbara ??

This is a delightful couple! I loved it! And I can totally see you in this video when you’re 100 years old, Tori! Only it would be a red velvet cake baked by MommaLloyd!

I just knew you would like this!
I keep trying to tell people that age is a number. You can’t place people in categories because of their age. Everyone is different. I have friends of all ages.
I wonder how old the husband is. Seems like he’s doing pretty good too – but the lady, I’d bet she’s a “hoot”!!!!
