Is that acorn squash, baked with brown sugar, nuts, raisins, and cinnamon inside? My late mother-in-law used to make that and I loved it.

When you’re around Mark Lowry, do you feel pressure to be just as funny? To make HIM laugh? What did you mother say that made him laugh? Do your girls enjoy him as much as we do? Did Russ have to avoid him ’cause he made him laugh and he just had surgery and it hurts to laugh? I know if I just had surgery, I would avoid anyone that funny until I healed!

I’ll just sit back and wait for you to answer sweet pea’s questions.

But then, I just want to add that it was so nice of Mark to come visit your mom…and the Taff girls.

LindaB: That is acorn squash baked face down in a little water and ever so slightly drizzled with honey. Then I fried a little bit of pancetta bacon, sauteed onions and mushrooms and kale with it, added some couscous cooked in chicken broth, a few craisins and toasted almonds, mixed in some feta cheese and stuffed that baby! It was seriously good.

I’ve known Mark for so long, I never feel any kind of pressure around him. We both like to make each other laugh, and he truly is incredibly funny. I can’t remember exactly what prompted Mark’s face during that photo, but I gotta tell you– Mom was in rare form! She was so sharp and such a scamp, she cracked him up more than once. The girls just adore him, especially Madi (Charlotte’s a little shyer.) Russ wasn’t there, he was still on his way home from his New Year’s Eve Date in Toronto. We barely had about an hour’s notice that he was actually coming– we had talked about him stopping by before Christmas on his way up to his parent’s house, but we got delayed because of Russ’ surgery and it didn’t work out, so this was a surprise!

And yes, Momma Lloyd– it was unbelievably nice of him to come.

I love hearing Mark sing Bein’ Happy–older versions on YouTube, plus I heard him sing it live twice in 2011.

But I also love seeing who WROTE Bein’ Happy–none other than Russ and Tori Taff!!! FUN SONG Girlfriend!

Thanks for answering my questions, Tori! And that acorn squash looks delicious! I love squash anyway! And you put bacon with it, it’s all over…………..the diet, that is!

Gramma Jac, I LOVE LOVE that song too!!!! One of my favorites!
