Photo Monday

OK, I have some other GREAT ones on Madi’s camera that I’ll try to add later, but here’s a few shots from Gatlinburg–

First of all, as always, THE MOUNTAINS:

Here’s what mornings at the chalet looked like. Char relaxes with her DS and a Dr. Pepper– (see Russ in the mirror?)

Madi’s a coffee girl.

I wasn’t able to do as much as I usually do, but we did manage to go on some of our annual Gatlinburg pilgrimages, like the Aquarium. I feel the need at least once a year to get a little skeeved out by some mucous-y looking jellyfish and to get a “You wanna piece of me?” look from an Alaskan king crab that rocks a rapper pose.

They had a new penguin exhibit this year, and Charlotte fell deeply in love…

She also figured out how to get their attention with her Dippin’ Dots wrapper– they are so curious!

Madi, on the other hand, loves the manta rays who obviously love her back.

She almost kills herself trying to pet one every year…

But she saves her deepest emotions for the sharks. You know, they kinda have a history…

ANNNNNND here’s the money shot:

(More soon!)

Tori, you give a great impression about a weekend with stunning, relaxing, joyful and intense (look at Madi on the last picture!)moments…and I hope you were able to benefit from the jacuzzi???

I’m sorry I didn’t say much lately: I’m preparing for my French finals next week *sound of chattering teeth* again 5 tests on 4 days; I’d very much appreciate it if you would be so nice and include that in your prayers(this time it depends very much on my form on these days)

2 years ago I was there, and it was before I became a bloomr regular so I didn’t get the joy of meeting you :-(. I love those mountains. You don’t have to try to relax when you’re there, it just happens naturally. The aquarium is really good too, we had great fun taking the girls there.

Last week we were on holiday too, in Cornwall in the far south west of England. The coastline is spectacular and the sun shone every day so I introduced the girls to the joy of bodyboarding – we had a great week. If you look on my facebook profile you’ll see a photo of my girls stroking a penguin – they love them, but did say ‘it was wet and smelled of fish’!

i love aquariums. I’d rather look at these creatures through glass than be down there in the water with them!

So glad you all had a wonderful and cozy place to hang out.

The top picture of the mountains brought this scripture to mind:

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20

Hope you are still on the mend…

Well,Tori it seems your Gatlenburg getaway was similar to my last one. The aquarium was one of the high points but the highest point was indoor skydiving!!! Wish I had photos of that but keep in mind my last Gatlenburg trip was in 1988 when digital and/or phone cameras were things of the future. Our chalet was at the top of the mountain –there was NO ROAD past the chalet entrance!! I remember the bed was built into the window so when we woke up we were looking up at the sky–plus it was way cool waking up in the clouds.
I guess I better close this chapter. So happy your trip was a blessing. Peace!!
