Coming Soon To This Space: A blog post!

(Not, um, right this minute however…)

OK, so today I joined Bill Gaither, Kevin Williams, Mark Lowry and Phil the DJ at Homecoming Radio!

Bill’s office called last week and asked if I would join them as a ‘commenter’ on the air as they pre-recorded a series of shows. After I picked myself up off the floor and stopped laughing, I realized this was not a Bill Gaither practical joke– they were actually serious about sitting me down in front of a real live microphone and unleashing me on the airwaves. It turned out to be a big fat pile of fun, and I’m even going back tomorrow morning to tape some more shows. Also? I didn’t swear once! Or burp on the air! Or snorty laugh! (OK, I may have snorty laughed a time or two– they set me next to Mark, and come on, I’m only human.)  So, you know, win/win.

I took a whole bunch of pictures but I need to write a short piece about it for Gaither.com first before I can blog about it. But I just wanted to tell you that there IS a post coming– just hold this space!

I really had a good time– it’s fun being the token chick in the room, and I love those guys so much. They’re really good at the whole radio thing, too! Me? Not so much, but at least I didn’t stink out loud. I think. Of course, there’s always tomorrow morning…

I’m glad that it was a positive experience for you! I hope we get to hear it! Tori unleashed on the radio! Imagine that! :)

Sounds like fun to me. Glad you enjoyed it. Mark did put a couple of photos on his blog but not of you. Shame on him!

    It does sound like fun!

It DOES sound like fun, but with a lot of stress thrown in! Do you feel pressure to be as funny and witty as Mark and Kevin and Phil? We KNOW you are, any day of the week, but maybe the radio audience doesn’t. People are gonna be delighted to get to know you and your unique sense of humor…….if you can get a word in edgewise! Did you ever feel like you were in the middle of an “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movie?

Isn’t that like it always goes—–you groom and condition your eyelashes for months until they are long, lush and beautiful, and you get a job in RADIO!!!!

Congrats on getting a plum assignment! Plum hilarious!

Well, you just never know when something fun and unexpected will come along when you’re just “doing your normal thing” . I’ll bet it was a riot! And I’ll also bet that you can hold your own up against those guys! Radio land is going to love you! (Do they have a 10 second delay button…just in case!?)

Who are those fellas kidding….they needed you there to fill in the blanks! ‘Course, it doesn’t hurt that you are having fun, too.

Happy 18th Birthday to our sweet Madi this past Monday.

Welcme Home to dad yesterday! Can’t wait for that cd!

Tori, please tell me the date of that program and let me know where I can get it! I have got to hear that. I run it every week on one station I work for and never heard it! Imagining you unleashed on radio is about like imagining me unleashed on radio! And, I think you know, that’s what I do for a living! Scary. If you come to Dallas, I need to put you in as co-host!
