“Aw, you can be a single lady if you want…”

I have followed a blogger named Carlos Whittaker on Twitter for a while now. He is a worship leader and Director of Service Programming at Buckhead Church in Atlanta, and is also an artist with Integrity Music. I like reading his writings, he is a very authentic person, funny and real. He and his wife Heather have three children– their oldest son Losiah, was adopted from Seoul Korea in 2006– and they are great advocates for adoption.

So, here’s why I’m telling you all of this: Carlos posted a video on Twitter yesterday that made me laugh my face off– I actually brought my laptop to the dinner table last night to show it to Russ and the girls! It is such a  classic parenting moment, and it is just adorable. Well, a few minutes ago I found out that the video is now going viral, and there have been links to it from Perez Hilton’s gossip blog, as well as AOL.com. Carlos is actually going to be on Jimmy Kimmel and his entire family will be interviewed on the CBS Early Show. This thing is going everywhere!

I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys– my favorite parts are the parent’s overreaction, the middle daughter’s classic stink-eye and Carlos’ comment at the end… ENJOY!

    Oh Em Gee.
This scene has taken place in my car.

Lost my nut laughing at this!

This is brilliant. My favourite parts are the same as yours … equivalent scenes have taken place in my family many times. Oh, and my oldest daughter is the master of that particular ‘look’!

ROFLOL OVER AND OVER!!! Oh yeah! I remember those moments in a vehicle with my offspring! Most of the time they would fight with each other (very loudly) and I was so frustrated that I couldn’t reach them because my arms are too short! Those times, or lack of them, are what makes the “golden” years golden! Thanks,Tori! You made me happy today!

I remember asking my hubby if he could buy me a used police vehicle with a sound proof plexiglas barrier between the front and back seat, complete with handcuffs….. and he just laughed! They NEVER fought when he was in the car!! Why was that? I’m still P.O.’d about that one!

That sure is a catchy little tune, isn’t it? And though I abhor most of the “popular” songs lyrics coming through the radio and MTV these days, I kind of like it that young girls by the millions are singing along with Beyonce, “If you like it then you should have put a ring on it!” (Never mind the rest of the lyrics! LOL)

1 – jonny – English is super great & I totally admire his wife’s persistance/committment/perserverance. – awesomely talented – awesome voice – awesome testimony. Also, one of our buddie Tori’s best buds. You’re watching some super grand stuff now! (Of course, I am biased to Russ!)
2- Tori – I had been, as you know, eavesdropping on your twits, (& you are such the world-wide cheerleader for everyone! bless your great big ole heart!), & had spotted loswhit up there yesterday, but didnt see the video until seconds b4 checking in to see what you were talking about today. Since you mentioned how proud God must be of them, I clicked on his blog to see what brought that on. Was that video funny, or what? This is one of times that I almost got put out of the library, AGAIN. He has the whole CBS interview up on his blog, and it is cool, cute fam, too. Great to know he is in ministry, & using this opportunity for goodness. I love the comment he said about taking all advertisements off his blog. He was looking kinda hot on the pic beside his twit, until i saw the kids and wife – oh, well……………
hey, yall – do I have to have an iphone to get on twitter? I am becoming obsessed w/ finding out how to get on that deal. The folks at US Cell. couldn’t tell me what to do. Does anyone out there have a phone number for this twitter thang, so I can call & talk to a real live person & ask questions? Talking to the computer is still not a very good conversation for me.

I just seen it on Entertainment Tonight! Bless his heart! Mean, mean daddy! ;-)

  9. jonny

Uh oh, DonnaMariePatterson just wrote, “bless his heart”!! Does that mean she’ll now start going after him with a shotgun!?!

(my apologies to those newer to the blog. That’s from a reference brought up around/over a year ago)

I just want to pause from all my “much serving” and preparation for tomorrow, (I identify with Jesus’ friend Martha), and tell you folks how thankful I am for all of you! And I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday, complete with some quiet moments to think about the horrendous sacrifice God willingly made for our salvation. And how thankful we are that we now have peace with God. And how that gives Him great joy!

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for THE JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb 12:2

HAPPY EASTER ALL YOU BABYBLOOMR’S! (Now, back to the grindstone.)

Loved the video. I laughed so hard because it reminded me so much of so many times in our own car with two young boys. OMG(osh) the times we had trying to uncry our kids from something we (me mostly) said not thinking of how it would be received by young ears.

Thanks Tori for bringing all the guilt memories back. Now it’s back to therapy again to try to bury them! LOL
