For Your Musical Education… Because Honestly? I’m Kinda Like Henry Higgins. (If he was, you know, actually a real person. And blonde. And middle-aged. And an American woman. OK, forget it, that whole analogy just completely fell apart.)
So a couple of years ago I saw this unbelievable video by a group called ‘OK Go’ (and no, they don’t sing gospel music, but don’t hold that against them.) OK Go is a rock group originally out of Chicago, and they used to be the house band for that public radio radio show, “This American Life” hosted by Ira Glass. They recorded a couple of albums with moderate success, and then they put together a video featuring the entire group in an elaborately choreographed routine done entirely on treadmills! It was hilarious, absolutely BRILLIANT, and immediately went viral– it’s now been viewed over 48 million times on youtube. Well, two days ago they put out a new one, and it is even wilder! It’s to a song called “This Too Shall Pass”, and I’ve been dying to show it to you guys– I defy you to NOT be smiling by the end of this video! Watch closely, because you don’t want to miss a thing…

I’m sitting here with my mouth open. Yes, I feel so cool that I’m still shaking from laughter. Those guys thought of everything they ever wanted to smash and break when they were young. I noticed the pile of TVs off to the side. Very creative. Thanks for the laugh.
