Feel-Good Wednesday!

See? I just randomly declared another holiday!

I am so enjoying the recipes you’ve sent in on the last post that I am hesitant to post something else because I want them to keep coming! Seriously, I am printing all of them out so I can make ‘em.

I’ll make a deal with you: I’m going to post a wonderful CBS News piece that you’ve probably already seen, but it is SO worth seeing again, and you guys keep the recipes coming! It’s like a bribe, really. Here’s a lovely, heartwarming video for all of my lovely readers… and then you HAVE TO send in more lovely butt-expanding recipes for me! (OK, not just for me, tell the truth, aren’t you guys loving these recipes too?!)

This is so fabulous, I wish I could sit next to you while you watch it so I could poke you in the ribs during the best parts…

(Thanks to Darrell Brown for reminding me how much I love this clip.)

Oh my dear, Tori, I couldn’t have been more excited if I had been at the game. I laughed and I cried. This is the kind of thing that makes you feel good all the way down to your toes. I probably would have run out on that court and then I would have scared that precious boy right square to death….’cause I would have had to hug ‘em!

sheesh!!! Could you put a waterproof mascara warning at the beginning? I watched with my kids and we were all cheering! Oh, and they laughed at me for crying. Teenagers are so sensitive!

YAY! I almost didn’t post it because I thought, “Oh well, everybody’s probably already seen this,” because it’s a couple of years old– but I showed it to Russ and he got a little teary so I decided it was worth putting out there again… You can never have too many wonderful, loving, encouraging, positive vibes out there in the world, right?

THIS IS MY FAVORITE VIDEO!!! My husband and I have watched this over and over for the last couple of years. I love how those kids in that gym went crazy in support of that boy. Teenagers can be the most awesome people in the world.
There’s another sports-related video about this Penn State football player who was injured in a game and not expected to ever walk again. The next season, he led the team on the field from the locker room for the first game–and he is dancing all over that field. He did not return to football, but it makes me cry to see him walk out with this big grin on his face.
I’m a sucker for any kind of ‘happy sports story’.

AMAZING! I showed it to my girls and they cried too! And cheered! What an amazing story! And how kind of that coach and team to call in this kid to actually play!!! That sure is a feel good video! After that one, I thought that even I could play basketball! For a nano second.

OH MY! I sat and watched this clip with tears streaming!! I am a mom of an autistic son. We are so bombarded with the negatives. It was so refreshing and encouraging to see something so positive about what could be.

Oh mistym67, I’m so glad you liked it! Here is a link to another version of the story, that ESPN did– it’s truly inspiring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngzyhnkT_jY

It’s great to see this popping up again, it’s agreat story. I’m from Rochester and it’s a nice “local hero” story.

I love this story. We need more positive things out there in the world. Maybe Pres. Obama when he is feeling low should watch this to lift him up!!

OH MAAAAAAAAAAAN! I am so glad I am not the only one that cried. That was so awesome, it kinda makes ya heart swelling inside your chest and makes you want to stand up and yell YES really loud, but you know you can’t because you are sitting at your desk at work. The others might not understand. LOL

If you don’t tear up over that one than you have a grinches heart. That was pretty special! I hadn’t seen that before.

Am I the only one that can put myself in “J-Mac’s” place? I think we all have a hidden talent or something special inside of us that we wished “if we only got that chance to shine”. That video gives one hope!

Thanks for that!! I even sent the video on to some family and friends.

Pass the tissues…. what a sweet story. Even sweeter is that absolutely everyone is rooting for this kid. I had never seen this..
