My Ambassadorship Continues…

So, the LG TextEd program they launched last week is going great, and just like I promised, here’s the heads up on when the post I wrote is going to be featured:

RIGHT NOW!

That was fast, right? Kinda surprised me too, the campaign goes on for several more weeks so I’m glad I didn’t have to wait too long! The topic I was asked to write about is “Talk the Talk: Decoding Your Teen’s Texting Lingo,” and it’s about trying to figure out what all of those dang abbreviations and weirdly-spelled words in text messages really mean. And as an added bonus, I got to use a picture of Charlotte in it. (She’s posing in Russ’ favorite TV-watching leather chair, it’s so cute!)

I would love it if you guys would hop over and check it out.

Also, if you leave a comment on my post? The LG people will donate $.50 for every one of them to an organization called “Do Something.org” that is geared towards getting kids off the computer and getting them involved in all kinds of projects that help others, like disaster relief, animal welfare and the environment.

You have to register on the BlogHer site in order to leave a comment, but it is totally no big deal– there’s a thingy you click at the top right of the page and it takes like 15 seconds. And they don’t spam you or anything. (OK, remember that big honkin’ blogging conference I went to a couple of years ago in San Francisco? And I was all angsty and nervous about it and then ended up having a really good time and partied with a McDonald’s bag on my head? Yeah, that one. Well, that was a BlogHer conference. So see, you already have a connection!)

Every Thursday I’m going to be posting a quick note here to let you know what that week’s TextEd topic is gonna be– seriously, if you have friends with texting teens (or tweens, or toddlers– whatever) you might tell them about this campaign– it really does have a lot of good information.

Anyway. I’ll try not to drive you crazy with this Ambassador stuff, but it is kind of fun and I’m learning some stuff, too, which is always a good thing.

And since you’re all being so nice and patient with me, here’s a little reward– a picture of Russ taking a Segway tour around Copenhagen!

(I was going to save it and blackmail him or something since he looks like such a giant dork with that helmet on, but I couldn’t wait.)

You’re welcome.

Warning: You could possibly faint from the sheer ADORABLENESS of what you are about to witness.

Seriously? I fell over in a heap.

Then I had to come back to life long enough to post it here for YOU, my dear readers. Because that’s just the kind of ‘Bloomr  I am.

Be sure and watch it all the way to the end– it gets even cuter! And it’s taking everything in me not to type that in all caps.

(Also? Now I really want an otter. I betcha we could teach it to use the doggy door…

(This video has been around for a while, but I just thought this day could use a big ol’ shot of sweetness in it! RIP, Nyac…)
