I’m gonna try it. I remember that it had Cool Whip and I think Eagle Brand…so this might be it! I know I printed that recipe when I made it but I can’t find it anywhere. Thank you so much for looking! I figure you can’t go wrong with strawberries and anything called “pudding” anyway! :)

This is a “long shot,” but here is a recipe for Strawberry Pudding that was Posted 2-19-11 on absolutelygospel.com by Diana Brantley, http://blog.musicscribe.com:

Strawberry Pudding
2 quarts of strawberries
1 box of vanilla wafers
1 large carton of Cool Whip
1 can Eagle Brand milk
1 8 oz. container of sour cream

Cut up strawberries and pour enough water over to cover in a bowl – you may add sugar or Splenda for a sweeter flavor (or keep it natural). Mix together the Cool Whip, sour cream and Eagle Brand milk. In a very large bowl or deep rectangular dish place a layer of vanilla wafers (half the box), cover with half of your strawberries and juice, then half of the Cool Whip mixture. Repeat the 3 layers. Chill before serving.

YUM!

Specifically, the recipe that ran in Homecoming Magazine several years ago? I made it once and Matt is asking for it again and I CAN’T FIND IT! Maybeee it was a Gloria Gaither recipe, but I’m not even sure about that. All the similar recipes I’ve found on the internet aren’t exactly as I remember it. Maybe Linda (food porn) B. tried this one? It involves strawberries (DUH) and vanilla wafers and it’s layered. Any help appreciated. :)

rachelbaker: I’m going to hold you to that–and we can have tea with that adorable Union Jack teapot you gave me!

TheCruzanFamily: WELCOME! (And honey, you are going to have to try a whole lot harder than this in order to be considered weird stalkers– I could tell you stories…) Seriously, so happy to have you join us here at ‘Bloomr Nation, and hope you become a regular. Chesapeake Bay, huh? Sounds WONDERFUL. I’ll say hi to Russ or you– and happy anniversary!

Sheryl: It was REALLY CREEPY! And the funniest part was that we honestly had no idea what we were in for– the first sign we saw just said something like “Babyland- Come and see dolls being born” and didn’t even mention Cabbage Patch kids. Madi said, “How do they birth DOLLS?” and thought it would be funny to go see what they were talking about… And that’s when we went down the rabbit hole.

Thanks for the laugh of the day with the Cabbage Patch experience. You have to wonder at the end of the day if those people go home and continue to live out their roles – that’s what’s really frightening!

Your post was very interesting, and makes Bell Buckle sound charming. My wife and I stumbled onto your blog really by accident. We are on vacation (20 year Anniversary) in VA sitting on the Chesapeake Bay listening to your husbands music (the early stuff Imperials / Medals / Way Home) and we wondered what he was up to. Super glad to see that life is going well…Not weird stalkers, just huge fans!

God bless

Glad to see that you are back in the land of blogging. Bell Buckle sounds and looks wonderful. I doubt we’ll ever see it but who knows! I don’t think I fancy all those cabbage patch kids around either.

(I wonder if your freaky flying bugs are what they call
“no see ‘ems” in Vermont? They definitely leave big lumps.)

First time I ever saw David he was comfortably ensconced on the porch…looking very happy. And I did not get ANY porch-sitting time when I was there so, you know, maybe in the Fall when it’s not so freaking HOT. I have something I need to bring you so I’ll just invite myself. A-hem. And lest anyone think you made some kind of spelling error, yes, I (Alyson) was there at the same time as ALLYSON. We had some discussion as to who is the ORIGINAL , but I think she has to concede to me as I am…oh…30 years older than she is.

I actually have 2 perfectly good, old, Southern porches attached to my house but lately I get bitten by some freaky, flying bug every time I attempt porch sitting and end up with huge, swollen lumps on my face that turn purple. Yeah. And they’re not mosquitos. So I’ll leave you with that image.
