Norman wasn’t a longtime family pet, he was a recent rescue, but he sure made an impact. We were sure hoping we could get him strong and healthy…

bettyrwoodward: I love that thought about our dads! And wow, 21 years? That is a seriously long time to love a pet. Yes, the death of Norman Holland has thrown everyone for a loop, quite a shock.

LindaB: Great. Now I’m teary again.

MommaLloyd: Glad to see your name pop up, hope that means your ‘little man’ is back to reading to you! Thank you for those thoughts– you are a perfect example of what weathering adversity with grace looks like.

Sheryl: WELCOME to ‘Bloomer Nation! Thanks so much for those kind words, glad you found us– now don’t be a stranger! And yeah, at least for me, blogging is pretty much like talking… (Except I blog a lot less than I talk!)

I am new to your blogging but have admired your writing from exerpts I have read. I absolutely LOVE your sense of humor and your down to earth realness. The warmth you showed upon meeting you was like greeting an old friend. Thanks for taking your picture with me!

I’ve never blogged before…is it just like talking?

Thanks for all you do!

The older you become, the more of these such conflicts become a part of your life. Healthy survival, I believe, is when you are able to do exactly as you do, sweet Tori, and I pray often that our merciful God will not let me take one tiny blessing each day for granted…but will enable me to celebrate it in a way that somehow overcomes those huge losses to the extent they are more bearable.

My heart aches for those who are simply unable to concentrate, for the most part, on the blessings in their lives….not that it is always easy and I realize it is harder for some than others….but the benefit is so remarkable, that one has to wonder why some won’t even try. I mean, if we can do this with little things, surely it makes the big things more bearable.

Sorry about the cat. I had my ‘Smokey’ for over 21 years and as you can imagine was very upset when we had him put to sleep.
Norman’s passing was a shock although I didn’t know him I had watched some of the social cams that he did with Mark. He will be greatly missed by many but I am sure he is enjoying himself praising the Lord.

I had to put down my dog, Caleb, on January 25. He was almost 18 years old (would have been in June). It was hard since he has been my constant companion and shadow. I can’t wait for that great reunion day in heaven when we can see all of our family, friends, and pets again. It’s gonna be FUN!
